As far a sharing my own music goes, the primary way in which I do that these days is by leading Sunday morning worship and using some of my congregational songs for group singing, and then giving a message through Scripture, spoken word, and music.  I can put together the entire liturgy if desired, or just provide the music and message.

I'm also available to give keynote addresses at conferences, lead group singing at denominational events, and to offer workshops on congregational singing and the importance of the messages of the songs we sing in church.

Congregations can also bring me to their church for a combination of musical performance and as a consultant regarding their own music programs and priorties.  To be clear, I do not typically work with choirs--that's not my primary gift--my expertise is more in the area of congregational singing.

My favorite thing to do at this point is to offer workshops on behalf of The Convergence Music Project.  I can provide a day long workshop for clergy and church musicians in which we discuss the theology and language of the music we sing, how and why the songs we sing have so much to do with the growth and vitality of a congregation, and share music from the many different artists that are at the heart of the Convergence Music Project website.

What Do I Charge?

I don't have set fees, and I try to make myself affordable.  Yes, I do need to be paid and I appreciate being paid generously, and I am happy to suggest a fee if you like once I understand what you're asking me to do.  And to be self-respectful...I'm worth whatever you pay me and probably more.  I'm a powerful and inspiring communicator and I wouldn't be doing this if I didn't believe that I have something special to offer.  But I've been a pastor and I know that finding money to bring in outside persons can be a challenge.  So just know that I'm easy to talk to honestly regarding compensation and that I work hard not to let money be the only reason an opportunity to minister doesn't work out.
